I ordered the chair about 2 weeks ago because I was having back problems again (sciatic nerve pinched) and my old office chair didn’t provide any relief (it was also an orthopedic office chair with a movable seat to strengthen the back muscles).

Since I work sitting down (test car driver, up to 450km per shift + 48km travel time) and also spend a lot of time sitting at the computer in my private life, I thought I’d do something good for my back. I was not disappointed.

On the day of the order, a friendly customer service employee called me and asked about my height and weight, as it seems to have happened quite often that customers ordered an office chair from the Hara product range that was not appropriate for the customer’s height and weight. But since I had chosen the right office chair, she informed me of the delivery status (the chair was currently out of stock, but should arrive next week in a container from Korea) and when it was expected to be delivered, which I was pleasantly surprised by.

The following week I received another call from the friendly employee who informed me that the chair had arrived in Germany and that it would be with me before the end of the week, which was actually the case.

I have to admit that I was quite surprised by the size (LWH: 100x70x45cm) and the weight of the box in which the chair was delivered. Sure, the product description says 26kg, but when you lug it around the apartment in real life and you have back pain… you know what I’m getting at. After I had assembled the 6 parts of the chair (backrest, seat, 2x armrests, base and the damper), I naturally tested it extensively.

As soon as you sit down, you notice how your back relaxes and after 10 hours of sitting, I had almost none of the usual complaints. You may know that when you lie down in bed after sitting for a long time, you can really feel your spine relaxing. With this chair, you don’t notice any of that because your spine is already relaxed when you’re sitting, which I find very pleasant. The chair is also very comfortable and the high backrest means you can relax when you lean back.

I find the workmanship of the chair to be high quality, which is to be expected given the price. All in all, I’m very satisfied and if the chair ever breaks, I would definitely buy a new one.

I took plenty of time to evaluate my new Hara chair. After all, you need time to realistically evaluate an office chair…
I have been sitting on my “Caesar” for 8-10 hours a day for 6 months now, and I have to say it is the best office chair I have ever had. The feeling of sitting is a bit strange at first, 2 separate seats that are movable is weird, but after a few days you will notice that the principle behind it is ingenious. The body weight is better distributed and there is significantly less strain when you tilt your upper body to the side (which often happens at a desk, you are sitting in front of the computer, somewhere to the left there is a printer that you bend over to, a fax or something to the right), after a while you will notice that your back can handle such actions better than before (I am severely disabled, also because of problems with my slipped discs).
So I would definitely recommend this chair. The workmanship is good, the seat is functional, the usual adjustment options (seat height, inclination, armrest height and width
etc.) and just an extraordinary sitting feeling. I think it’s very positive that the backrest can be tilted very far back, perfect for putting your feet up during breaks (but you have to be careful not to fall asleep ;). In summary, up to this point I would have given it 4 stars, with one star deducted for the price, which I think is high for a chair that is largely made in the Far East (not China, which you can tell from the quality).
I found the service from Harastuhl very positive, I had actually ordered a different model, was contacted by phone after ordering and was given very comprehensive advice, especially in terms of height and weight, the Caesar was recommended to me because it was better suited to my needs (190cm, 105KG). The advice was nice, very competent and above all customer-oriented, it wasn’t about selling me the most expensive chair, but the most suitable one. That’s rare these days. After 5 months, unfortunately, there was a small problem with my chair, so I called Harastuhl, my complaint was very straightforward, within 2 days my chair was perfect again, without any complicated procedures. Since good service is unfortunately no longer a given these days, I’m giving it an additional star for the service.

You can’t review chairs because every back is different. For some it’s a revelation, for others it’s torture. At Hara, the excellent customer service is worth mentioning. A friendly lady called three times to ask how satisfied I was with the item. At first I wasn’t very enthusiastic, the friendly lady recommended a trial period of several weeks, after which a refund would still be possible. And indeed: after about 6 weeks, my back and I were absolutely delighted.

I spent many decades on office chairs. The Hara “Caesar”, which I used in the office for 10 years and now use privately, was definitely the best and most comfortable.
Especially if you weigh a few kilos more, this chair stands out in every way.

But then the saleswoman called me and asked me about my height (180) and weight (104). After that I measured my thigh width with a tape measure and she recommended this chair to me because the other one was too narrow for me in terms of the seat. No sooner said than done. The chair initially makes a very stable impression. The artificial leather is surprisingly tolerable. I didn’t actually want leather and certainly not an artificial leather chair, but this works quite well.
You don’t sweat on it and it feels very comfortable.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is that my bottom doesn’t hurt anymore. My tailbone and lower back are pain-free even after hours. No comparison to other chairs. It is
very comfortable and what was promised is also kept.

At the moment I have the problem that the chair is tipping a little and I would like to lower it a little. If the friendly salesperson can solve this, then the chair deserves a full 5 points. I will complete the review later. Addendum 11/9/2013: The helpful support employee immediately sent me a shorter cartridge with a ring and explained to me over the phone how to change it. Now the chair no longer tips and is the right height for my height. My pain has disappeared. As soon as I sit on a different chair I notice the difference. I can’t stand sitting on other chairs for an hour. But this one is absolutely no problem. Now I give it a full 5 points.

I started my own business last year and was therefore looking for a suitable chair. After just a few weeks I had severe back pain in the right lumbar region. No wonder, my old chair was already 12 years old and not exactly the most expensive 🙂

I had had the Haratech Nietzsche chair on my wish list for weeks. I contacted Ms. Gruber from Haratech because I was unsure whether the Nietzsche was the right chair for me. In my case, the weight problem is a complicating factor, as most chairs are tested up to 120 kg, but I needed a chair that could hold at least 130 kg.

Ms. Gruber from Haratech took a lot of time to answer my questions, and together we considered which chair was right for me. Then there was a bit of radio silence, during which I tried out a very, very expensive chair from a German chair manufacturer. It wasn’t for me.

I was therefore skeptical when I decided to go for the Haratech. Even a quick consultation with my orthopedist gave me the green light. So I ordered it and a few days later the chair arrived. Since then I’ve been sitting on clouds. It takes some getting used to at first because you simply don’t know the two seat cushions. But the chair is very comfortable right from the start and I no longer have back pain. My favorite chair!

For years I have been looking for the ultimate chair that would make working at my desk “pain-free”. My last office chair cost €300 and also had lumbar support, but with a conventional seat cushion. I threw this away after about 2 years because I had pain in my coccyx area after just 30 minutes.

Now I found a new concept that was developed for the back AND buttocks. I thought this was my last chance before I got a standing desk. Visually, the seat reminded me a little of a gynecologist’s chair… but if it’s supposed to help? So what!

My new Hara – Heran arrived within 2 days, I unpacked it and was shocked at first when I saw the Asian characters (Oh dear, China, I thought). At second glance I saw that it was a Japanese product (lucky me). Since I am an absolute fan of Japanese woodworking products and kitchen knives, I gave it a chance and put it together straight away. It was very easy to assemble and could be done without tools (2-3 minutes). There are German instructions included, but you don’t necessarily need them. The chair is very well made and sturdy. The fabric feels good, the backrest covers have zippers on the underside and are removable – and therefore washable. The cushions are firm but comfortable. The adjustment levers are attached in such a way that you can use them easily without crawling under the chair. Sitting was a bit strange for the first few minutes, but you get used to it very quickly and even develop a small fitness and exercise program while you work. Above all: NO MORE PAIN. It is important to adjust the chair to your needs and dimensions using all of its adjustment options. My key data: 180 cm, 95 kg

My conclusion: Good ergonomics, good feel, good quality and absolutely worth the money!

After a friendly and competent telephone consultation, I bought the chair directly from the German sales representative because, as a former self-employed person, I am of the opinion that medium-sized businesses should not necessarily have to pay sales commissions that minimize margins to billion-dollar corporations.

The chair was delivered within a few days by UPS. When unpacking it, the material and workmanship immediately made a high-quality impression in terms of the “tactile impression”. A particularly positive thing: the entire construction consists of very few individual parts that can be assembled without tools and without any problems. Anyone who has ever had relevant experience with assembling the products of a large Swedish furniture store will appreciate this.

The seating experience can only be described as “cloud nine”. Here, the attribute “ergonomic” is not just a hackneyed marketing slogan. My old office chair, which wasn’t cheap either and which I had used for over 20 years, felt like a poorly padded concrete block after just a few hours. The only downside: the maximum adjustable height of 50 cm was still a bit lower than I had been used to for years, although it would have been sufficient in a pinch (according to my ID card, I am 1.88 m tall). However, when I asked about this, a longer gas pressure spring was sent to me immediately and free of charge, and since it was replaced, everything has been perfect.

Conclusion: Both the product and the service are absolutely top-notch!
